Nagano Wine Valley is the collective name for five major wine-producing regions scattered throughout the prefecture, each with its own unique charm.
Chikumagawa Wine Valley
Nagano Prefecture’s largest wine-growing region stretches along the Chikuma River basin. The cool climate is ideal for grape cultivation, and high-quality wines such as Chardonnay and Merlot are produced.
Kikyogahara Wine Valley
This wine-growing region is located in Kikyogahara, Shiojiri City. It is particularly famous for its Merlot grapes, which are highly regarded both in Japan and abroad.
Japan Alps Wine Valley
Surrounded by the Japanese Alps, the region is a wine valley popular for its magnificent nature and fine wines such as Chardonnay and Cabernet.
Yatsugatake Nishiuroku Wine Valley
