Onko Chishin Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo; President: Tomoki Matsuyama (hereinafter, Onko Chishin)), which produces and operates accommodations that serve as travel destinations, will open “HOTEL LA VIGNE HAKUBA by Onko Chishin” (location: Hakuba Village, Kitaazumi District, Nagano Prefecture; hereinafter, La Vigne Hakuba) on December 19, 2024 (Thursday) in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, renowned as one of Japan’s premier snow resorts. This marks Onko Chishin’s first luxury hotel condominium operation.

Prior to the opening, we are pleased to announce that a special opening ceremony was held on December 17 (Tuesday), incorporating soil from Shinshu Wine Valley and wine grape saplings in honor of the hotel’s name.

“HOTEL LA VIGNE HAKUBA by Onko Chishin” Opens December 19 (Thursday)

Hotel La Vigne Hakuba is a 38-room alpine resort hotel developed by List Development Co., Ltd. of the List Group (President: Hiroyuki Kiuchi, headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa) and operated by Onko Chishin. Located in “Echoland”, the central district of Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, known as an international mountain resort, the hotel features expansive mountain views overlooking the majestic Northern Alps and facilities suitable for group stays and extended visits. Additionally, it houses a restaurant offering teppanyaki and French courses using seasonal Shinshu ingredients paired with over 1,000 Japanese wines, providing a unique culinary experience distinctive to Shinshu.

 

■Opening Ceremony Held December 17 (Tuesday)

On Tuesday, December 17th, we held an opening ceremony ahead of the grand opening on Thursday, December 19th. The ceremony was attended by Onko Chishin President and CEO Tomoki Matsuyama, List Development Co., Ltd. President and CEO Hiroyuki Kiuchi, Archivision Co., Ltd. President and CEO Sumihiro Hirotani, and Villa d’Est Winery Co., Ltd.’s Takeshi Konishi, who blessed the opening and prayed for the hotel’s prosperity. In honor of the hotel name “La Vigne”, which means “grapevine” in French, instead of a traditional ribbon cutting, we performed a special ceremony where soil collected from five regions of Shinshu Wine Valley—“Kikyogahara”, “Chikumagawa”, “Yatsugatake Western Foothills”, “Tenryugawa”, and “Japan Alps”—was placed over Merlot and Chardonnay saplings. Just as grapes require approximately three years to bear delicious fruit, this ceremony embodied our wish for La Vigne Hakuba to continue maturing in Shinshu’s rich natural environment and remain a hotel that contributes to regional development.

It was a warm and heartfelt ceremony that truly captured the natural blessings of Shinshu and the charm of the region, perfectly befitting La Vigne Hakuba.

A “bistronomie”-style restaurant where you can enjoy diverse cuisine centered on teppanyaki and French course meals using seasonal Shinshu ingredients. Two private dining rooms (capacity 6 guests each) are available for intimate dining experiences. The restaurant is also open to non-hotel guests.

【Interior Design Details】

Throughout the hotel—from the entrance hall that welcomes guests to guest rooms and common areas—we have prepared items that convey the essence of local Shinshu traditional crafts. Lights using “walnut glass” that evoke the sparkle of snow, objects created by woodworker Moyuru Ando inspired by felled trees, and signature hotel fragrances and bath amenities created by TS AROMATIQUE STUDIO’s aroma designer Tomoko Saito to express the image of La Vigne Hakuba—all these interior elements allow you to experience the region’s culture and climate firsthand, providing the refined and special atmosphere of La Vigne Hakuba.

La Vigne Hakuba is located near Echoland, Hakuba’s central district, positioned between Hakuba Happo-one Ski Resort and Hakuba47 Winter Sports Park. This area, with cafes, restaurants, bars, izakaya, and souvenir shops lining the main street, is ideal as a base for Hakuba tourism. Additionally, the hotel is adjacent to “SPICY”, a ski snowboard equipment and mountain bike rental shop, allowing even beginners without equipment to actively enjoy Hakuba empty-handed.
